What the Board does

The BHBIA Board is responsible for the strategic oversight, governance and long-term sustainability of the Association. Working together, Board members:

  • Set strategic priorities and approve key initiatives
  • Provide oversight of finances, governance and compliance
  • Support and guide BHBIA committees and working groups
  • Ensure the Association continues to deliver value for members

The Board works closely with the BHBIA administrators and officers, who manage day-to-day operations, member engagement, communications, events and professional development programmes.

 

How the Board works and how members are elected

  • The Board comprises 10 members elected by the membership: 5 Industry and 5 Agency/Consultancy representatives
  • Board members serve a two-year term and may stand for re-election
  • New Board members are elected annually by the BHBIA membership
  • Nominations open before the end of December and close on 31 January
  • Nominees must be proposed by one BHBIA member, and seconded by a member from a different member company.
  • If nominations exceed available places, a member ballot is held in February
  • New Board members are announced at the AGM during the Annual Conference

 

What we look for

We welcome nominations from across our membership and actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. You don’t need prior Board experience but you do need curiosity, commitment and a desire to contribute. Successful Board members typically bring:

  • A genuine commitment to the BHBIA’s purpose and values
  • The ability to contribute time, energy and follow-through
  • Experience or insight relevant to healthcare business intelligence
  • A collaborative, constructive approach
  • A willingness to represent and advocate for the Association

 

Board Election - Voting Closes 6th March 2026

We have received five nominations for the four available Industry Division vacancies on the BHBIA Board and five nominations for the four available agency/consultancy vacancies on the BHBIA Board. Therefore, in accordance with the BHBIA Articles of Association Section 8, a vote will take place to elect the new Board members. 

We have shared details of how to vote with the relevant Main Contacts & Administrators via e-mail week commencing 16th February. Online voting closes at midnight on the 6th March 2026.  Results of the election will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on the 27th April.
