BHBIA Awards for the Best Conference Paper and Best Workshop
The BHBIA presents two awards each year to recognise excellence at the Annual Conference. These are awarded to the presenters and facilitators achieving the highest scores, as voted on by the event delegates.
The Keith Munro Award is for the Best Paper
2023 Winner: Hysterical Health
Lucy Neiland, Health Anthropologist and Helen Bennis, Senior Director – Ipsos
The notion that women’s bodies are inferior, and their accounts of illness and pain untrustworthy, has existed for centuries, and it's worse for women from minority ethnic groups. This talk revealed some shocking examples of how women are treated differently from men and started to unpack what’s going on, providing a historical and cultural context to these beliefs. The audience was left in no doubt that this is a critical topic for health care providers, health care systems and pharmaceutical companies.
The John Wheeler Award is for the Best Workshop
2023 Winner: Unleashing your Inner Charisma for Maximum Business Impact
Su Sandhu, Managing Director – SkyBlue Healthcare Associates
Having the ability to challenge the status
quo and influence decision-making is critical in our roles within BI. How is it
that some people are far more influential than others, even when delivering the
same message, and how far does charisma have a role to play in this? Su
discussed a practical model for charisma and the steps we can all take to
unleash our inner charisma. Attendees had the chance to reflect on their own
place in the model and discussed their strengths and challenges, which left
everyone with practical tips to take away and put into practice.
