Sustainability Guiding Principles

The BHBIA’s Sustainability Committee has created Guiding Principles for Environmental Sustainability designed to help members establish and integrate best practices and principles throughout theirr organisation, driving outcomes that respect our planet as the foundation of life and quality of living.

We know that business intelligence teams in pharmaceutical companies will be governed by their companies' overall ESG strategy. Therefore, this guidance focuses primarily on agencies/consultancies, fieldwork agencies and personal members.

Key aspects of the guiding principles include:

• Establishing and integrating sustainability into business practices.
• Measuring, managing and responsibly offsetting your organisation's carbon footprint.
• Setting annual reduction targets and planning to achieve net-zero emissions within five years.
• Practical steps to consider in your sustainability plan.
• Carbon accounting, reporting and emission reduction tools and reporting platforms.
• Certification bodies.
