Join this one day workshop to elevate your personal impact and effectiveness
Packed with tried and tested tools and frameworks, this highly practical one day workshop will equip you with the skills you need to be approached as a trusted business partner.
Build your toolkit or challenge your existing skills with industry experts and professional trainers.

What can you expect?

Our objective is to establish Business Insights professionals not just as providers of insights, but as trusted business partners and advisors.

Attending this one-day workshop will provide you with tangible tips and tools to take back to your working practice the next day. The skills you learn will then require regular practice to gain confidence in using them and fit them to your individual working style:

  • Indispensable skills to make you a highly valuable Business Insights Partner
  • Storyboarding your Insights
  • Go from Data Foe to Data Friend
  • Communication Styles - from differences to common ground with Insights Discovery®

As part of the course fee attendees will have the opportunity to generate their own personal Insights Discovery® profile to keep which can be a powerful personal development tool in your career journey.

The Insights Discovery® session is hosted and run by a professional trainer, working in partnership with the BHBIA. Insights Discovery® is a workshop based on Jungeon psychology using colours as shorthand to help participants' understanding of different individual styles and approaches to work and life.

Prior to the course attendees will be invited to complete an online evaluator. The result of this online evaluator will be an Insights Discovery® Personal Profile, which will show how your behavioural preferences may influence your personal and communication style in the workplace.

This profile is personal to you and will contain information about your personal style, key strengths and weaknesses, influencing and tips on effective communication, which can be a useful tool in your own development plans. Who should attend?

This course is an evolution of the popular Empowering the Analyst course and has been broadened to be relevant to those in data or research based Business Insights roles.

The skills covered are relevant to anyone involved in gathering and communicating insights to audiences over whom they have no managerial authority but need to influence and guide their decisions. It would suit those new into the industry to build a strong starting base, or those with more experience looking to sharpen and develop their current insight communication and influencing skills.

This one-day workshop acts as an introduction to the new Business Skills series run by the BHBIA. It can either be followed up by attending specific courses that focus on a skill in more depth, or used as a rounded overview that will give some practical tools to take away and use next day as part of your personal development plans.
