Introduction

This course is one of a series provided by the British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association (BHBIA), aimed at providing comprehensive training in the areas of Pharmaceutical Market Research & Business Intelligence.

BHBIA courses are unique in that they are run by the BHBIA, a non profit making Industry body. Lectures are provided by experts drawn from both Pharmaceutical Companies and Agencies to provide high quality and unbiased training.

Content

Suitable for Pharmaceutical Company & Research Agency personnel, typically with 6 to 18 months experience, this course provides a solid grounding in the basics of healthcare market research and business intelligence, with a focus on best practice, effective client-agency relationships and the importance of actionable results.

This is a 3 day residential course, utilising a range of delivery techniques including plenary sessions, “hands on” practice, role plays, syndicates and case studies. Evening events provide an excellent opportunity to network with other delegates and lecturers.

Topics include:
  • Understanding the pharmaceutical drug flow - from factory to patient
  • Understanding the various business information audits – a hands-on session working with data from multiple sources to answer key business questions
  • The BHBIA Legal and Ethical Guidelines for Healthcare Market Research
  • The research process from both the company and agency perspectives
  • The RfP and Proposal
  • The difference between qualitative and quantitative research and when each is appropriate
  • 'Jargon Busting' - demystifying industry acronyms!
  • An introduction to projective techniques
  • Commissioning, fieldwork and presentation

The course will be highly interactive, with ‘hands-on’ practice, group discussions and syndicate work throughout. A final case study provides the opportunity for practical application of everything that has been learned.

You can also read a review of a previous course to see what delegates said about it (viewable by full BHBIA members only - you will need to log in).
