BHBIA NEWS
New guidance for reviewing/approving market research materials online resource
August 2nd, 2017
This resource has been designed specifically for non-market
researchers involved in examining market research (MR) materials. Our
goal is to help reviewers to input more confidently and efficiently,
ensuring that MR complies with company and regulatory standards, in
particular the ABPI Code.
The programme provides an understanding of the basis, scope and purpose of the BHBIA Legal and Ethical Guidelines, their inter-relationship with the ABPI Code, and the distinction between MR and other activities such as clinical research and promotion/selling.
It's suitable for all those involved in reviewing MR materials, which, depending on your organisation, may include Medical/Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance/Drug Safety, Compliance/Legal, Procurement and other commercial departments.
If you are a market researcher it would be great if you could bring this to the attention of the relevant people and encourage them to take a look. They don’t need to register or log in to access this resource.

We hope this resource will support you in conducting MR that:
- Adheres to the ABPI Code (Clause 12.2) and regulators’ requirements;
- Meets your company’s internal standards;
- Complies with Data Protection legislation;
- Meets Pharmacovigilance requirements related to the MR process;
- Incentivises respondents in line with company fair market value rates.
We hope you will find this a useful resource and we welcome any feedback via admin@bhbia.org.uk
